To all Indian Cabinet delegates…
We hope that you are getting as excited for the conference as we are! Preparations are in full swing for your arrival in Philadelphia. For this blog post, we wanted to examine an interesting angle on population growth. The committee’s brief focuses heavily on the public health implications of massive growth, but the economic considerations should also play a heavy role in our debate. An article by the Independent
notes that while China’s population will peak in around ten years, India’s will not do so until at least 2050. This means that if India is able to focus its people into a trained and effective workforce it will see massive economic gains. Thus, we not only want you to develop solutions on improving public health, but also how the existing population can be effectively used to the nation’s benefit.
See you soon!
