While the General Assembly Committees tend to focus on broad policy decisions, the Specialized Agencies are organs of the United Nations that allow for more in-depth study and analysis. Instead of addressing an issue like Disarmament or the Legal Implications of Climate Change, agencies like the United Nations Development Programme or the United Nations Population Fund allow delegates to look more specifically at a social, economic, or political issue as it is applied to a state or region of the world. The topics tend to be more specific in nature, and afford for a more involved solution.
